No, I’m a Queenslander. No need for it here thankfully.

You will need it if you go interstate for a holiday

No, you forward the invoice to qld ambulance and they pay it for you. This recently happened to us in NSW

FFS how is that fair? One state you have to pay & next door you don't & they even got out of it while they were visiting here. How the f do we change this? We are getting so screwed in Nsw.

Change who you vote for. Start looking at NSW govt

It's not free, they pay a levy. It's just state run instead of privately.

Apparently i don't vote for the more popular government anyway so it's in no way my fault.

People with a pension or health care card get free ambulance in NSW. As do young children and victims of sexual, domestic and child abuse

Sorry that should say young people and children in the care of the state. It's late and I got a bit ahead of myself lol

Yes, included with my private health insurance.

Only have one ride a year

No, mine has unlimited. I'm in ACT.
'No annual limits on Emergency Ambulance transportation - excludes residents of QLD and TAS who have ambulance services provided by their State Ambulance Schemes.'

I have ambulance cover for my 3 kids and i, its pretty cheap about $70 a year (medibank private).... One year i had two ambulances within two months and was soooo glad i had insurance when the bill came!

I have one free trip in my health insurance... If I needed more I would just pay it off (I work for NSW Ambulance, no staff discount 😂)

 Well that's rude too

Yes it's party of our cover.

I'm glad there's a party in your cover

 Most people's aren't that exciting

No I don't, I'm not sure if it's worth it. The last time I went into an ambulance was years ago and I got a bill that I could pay off. Plus I live out of the main town so any time I've needed to go to hospital it's been quicker to drive myself.

 $1025 ambulance without cover
How can you drive if you were in a serious car accident or having a heart attack or stroke ?

 It's only about $70 a year.
I'd you are in a serious accident it would cost you thousands

Yes I do know that, I haven't had anything serious happen thank goodness, I will have to have a look into it

My mum always said when we left home that if you can’t afford private health cover you need ambulance cover. It’s a lot cheaper that the ride in the back the ambulance. My last trip was about 6 kms and it cost about $800.

 ^my mum said the same!

In QLD we have an ambulance levy that is included in our electricity bill.

If you go interstate it’s not free

QLD ambulance cover, covers Qlders even when they are interstate.

My private health insurance only offers one ride per person
We have family ambulance cover

Does that free ride have limitations? I heard them discussing on the radio how when people revise their insurance they don’t notice that a cheaper company will only have free ride from home, etc..
